Storage Membership FAQ

What is the Storage Membership service?

Our Storage Membership allows clients to securely store their Will in our fireproof safes for a yearly fee, ensuring it remains protected and easily accessible when needed.

How much does the Storage Membership cost?

Our annual fee for the Storage Membership is HK$400. This include secure storage of your Will, and retrieval of your Will when needed.

Where is my Will stored?

All documents are stored in our waterproof and fireproof safes located in a secure facility.

Can I update my stored Will if I make changes?

Yes, you may submit an updated Will at any time. We will securely replace the previous version in our storage and return the old document for destruction to your shipping address.

How do I access my stored Will when needed?

Upon your request (or by your designated executor after verification), we will retrieve and provide your Will securely.

What happens if I don't renew my Storage Membership?

If your storage membership lapses, we will reach out to you to update your payment information. If we cannot reach you, we will return your Will to your last known shipping address and will notify you before taking any action. See our terms and conditions for full details.

Is my Will kept confidential?

Yes, we maintain strict confidentiality. Only you, authorized personnel, and your executors (after your passing) will be granted access to your Will, and we follow stringent privacy protocols.

Can I store other important documents besides my Will?

You may also store your letter of wishes and list of assets alongside your Will at no additional cost. Contact us for special requests beyond that.

How do I sign up for the Storage Membership?

You can join our Storage Membership from your home dashboard after logging in or while checking out for one of our Will services.

What if I need to cancel my membership?

You can cancel anytime, and we will return your Will to your provided shipping address. See our terms and conditions for full details.

What happens if NobleWills goes out of business?

In the unlikely event that NobleWills ceases operations, we will notify you and arrange for the return of your Will either to your last known shipping address or by in person collection, dependning on the circumstances. We take the security of your documents very seriously and have contingency plans in place to ensure their safekeeping.

What does the executor need to prepare for retrieving my Will?

The executor will need to provide a copy of the death certificate and proof of identity. We will verify their identity before releasing the Will to them. If a death certicate is not available at the time of retrieval, we will contact you from the available methods of contact, and if we do not hear from you within a week, we will release the Will to the executors.

At what point can my executor retrieve my Will?

Your executor can retrieve your Will after your passing, provided they have verified their identity and provided the necessary documentation, such as a death certificate. If a death certificate is not available at the time of retrieval, we will contact you from the available methods of contact, and if we do not hear from you within a week, we will release the Will to the executors.

Why should I choose NobleWills to store my Will?

NobleWills offers a secure and reliable location for storing your Will. Our fireproof safes, strict confidentiality protocols, and easy access procedures ensure that your important documents are protected and available when you need them.

Can I store my Will in a bank safety deposit box instead?

We do not necessarily recommend storing your Will in a bank safe deposit box, as it may not be easily accessible to your executor after your passing. The bank may seal the box and request for a court order to access it, causing delays to the estate distribution.

Why shouldn't I store my Will at home?

Storing your Will at home poses risks such as losing the Will, accidental damage (e.g., coffee stains or bending), tampering, and loss of privacy. If your Will is lost, damaged, or shows evidence of tampering, the court may deem it invalid, leading to complications in the distribution of your estate. Our secure storage service mitigates these risks by providing a safe and reliable location for your Will.

What if I have more questions about the Storage Membership?

If you have any further questions, please contact our customer support team via email or WhatsApp. We are here to assist you with any inquiries you may have regarding our Storage Membership service.

Can I store my Will in digital format?

Currently, the courts only accept original Wills in physical format. Therefore, we recommend storing your Will in its original paper form. However, you may keep a digital copy for your records, but it should not replace the original document.

If I go through a divorce, what should I do with my stored Will?

After you go through a divorce, it is advisable to update your Will to reflect any changes in your beneficiaries or executors. You can submit an updated Will to us, and we can arrange to replace the previous version in our storage. If you do not update your Will, the court may consider certain terms in the Will invalid, which could lead to complications in the distribution of your estate. If you opted for our spousal package, we will arrange to split your files, and any membership fees will be separately charged.

If I get married, what should I do with my stored Will?

Marriage revokes Wills in many countries, so it is important to update your Will to reflect your new marital status and any changes in beneficiaries or executors. You can submit an updated Will to us, and we can arrange to replace the previous version in our storage.
